Blade exactly as described...Sharp and precise. Lightly coated with lubricating oil prior to 1st use. BE AWARE: IF YOU'RE ACCUSTOMED TO USING BLADE GUARDS (I.E. GUARD #4 WHICH THEORETICALLY SHOULD LEAVE HAIR SAME LENGTH AS 3.75" BLADE WITHOUT GUARD), THE BARE BLADE WILL LEAVE YOUR HAIR MARGINALLY SHORTER. Not sure why as I'm not a professional, but nevertheless something to consider.
